Certified Trick Dog Instructor
Member of Alberta Force Free Alliance
Bachelor of Commerce

Maegan initially started attending Sherwood Barks as a student in 2016; finding a passion for dog training. Maegan trained her first dog at the age of 8, through 4-H; competing in Conformation and Obedience trials as a junior handler. The training methods used at that time were 'alpha' with the use of choke chains and prong collars. In keeping with today's methods of training, Maegan currently uses a positive reinforcement approach. Today, Maegan participates in many dog sports including Agility, is a founding member of Ruff Go's Flyball club, and is Trick Titled with Lexi and George. She is also a Certified Trick Dog Instructor.

Sharlie Adams
Professional Dog Groomer

Sharlie has 15+ years experience grooming dogs, she is a wonderful addition to our team:

"I am super excited to be joining the Sherwood Barks team as their Professional Dog Groomer! Grooming dogs has always been one of my passions. I grew up in the Dog Show world with my sister and my mom, who was a Professional Dog Handler and breeder of Portugese Water Dogs.

I groomed my very first dog when I was 8 years old, a Portugese Water Dog of course!

As a young person, I began working with different Professional Dog Handlers and was able to gain knowledge in grooming many different breeds of dogs. I even spent a few years with World Champion Groomer, Shaunna Bernardin!

After leaving the Dog Show world, I worked and managed Pats Pet Care in Camrose for 7 years.

Currently my family has two amazing pups of our own, Major a Protugese Water Dog and Thunder, a Border Collie cross. I am looking forward to meeting you all, especially your amazing pups!"

Aadra Vanderbleek
Apprentice Trainer
Dog Daycare Attendant

After starting agility classes in 2017 with her brother's shepherd, Aadra found a passion for working with dogs. She loves the challenges that each dog brings, since none are the same and they all have something different to teach you. With her shepherd being quite reactive, it has taught her a lot about working with your dog’s strengths and advocating for them. After getting her second dog, she began to shadow puppy classes at Sherwood Barks and has been trying to get more involved with them ever since. Aadra currently has both of her dogs in multiple dog sports such as agility, disc and flyball. She works part time in the doggy daycare as well! Aadra has a BSc degree in mathematical sciences, and is working towards her Bachelor of Education Degree.

Aadra has two dogs;

Morten, a 4 year old GSD/King Shepherd and
Nora, a 2 year old Australian Shepherd/Blue Heeler cross.

Kelly Eggleston
Dog Daycare Attendant

Kelly has loved dogs since a young age having grown up with many family furfriends; including her first pup, Junebug the English Springer Spaniel. After years of travel for school and work, she returned to Edmonton and took a leap when she locked eyes with Colbie at the Edmonton Humane Society last November. Kelly is dedicated to positive reinforcement training and has raised Colbie to be a therapy and emotional support companion since he came home at 9 weeks old. Little did she know how much energy and skill he would have! After coming to Sherwood Barks in May, Colbie has attended Puppy 1-3, leash reactivity, agility, and now tricks and games. Colbie has become a skilled Agility dog. Alongside shadowing classes, Kelly now works as a Daycare Attendant with her furry sidekick ever close by.

Colbie is a 1 year old Shepherd Labrador cross.

Kelly Eggleston
Training Apprentice
Dog Daycare Attendant

Fern grew up on a farm around all kinds of animals, but loved the family dogs that they always had, mostly Austrailian Shepherds, Border Collies and Blue heelers (basically any kind of working cattle dog). In 2015 she helped volunteer for a dog rescue, helping foster puppies. Always having a busy schedule, she was never able to have the time to get her own dog. However, when COVID happened, she saw the perfect opportunity and Annie came along!  She and Annie started doing training at Sherwood Barks in the spring of 2020.

Fern Fell in love with training and took Puppy Level 2, Puppy Level 3, Tricks & Games and began falling more and more in love with training and being around Sherwood Barks. In October 2020 she began volunteering in puppy classes and loved being a part of the Sherwood Barks team so much that she started working part time in the daycare in March 2021! A week later decided to take the plunge and accept a full time position at the daycare. Soon after she applied and was accepted to become an apprentice trainer! She loves getting to know your dogs through training and daycare.

She has been obsessed with learning about canine behavior, positive reinforcement and science based training methods. It has been an amazing experience and she is forever grateful that she decided to start training Annie at Sherwood Barks. If you come to daycare you might see her own pup strutting about.

Annie is a 1 year old Keeshond, Great Pyrenees X.
