Daycare services

Sherwood Barks offers daycare service to all shapes, sizes and breeds. Drop your dog off for a day of socialization, play and interaction. With over 7,500 sf, dogs are separated into groupings of similar size, temperament and play styles. Typically, we keep each grouping to a maximum of 10 dogs. Each individual dog's comfort and safety level is of utmost importance us. Dogs are supervised at all times by trained, experienced and dog loving staff members. 

Sherwood Barks is a force free, positive reinforcement facility. We do not use corrections of any kind to stop unwanted behaviors. You are able to tour the facility at anytime, pop ins are welcomed (although, you may get barked at!). 

Dogs who have a history of aggression toward people or dogs should not consider coming to daycare. Daycare is best suited for dogs who are dog and human social, to enjoy the day with other dogs and staff members. Our goal is to not overwhelm any dog or put them in a position that may cause a negative experience. 

Daycare dogs are given access to our fully fenced and partially turfed outdoor space; complete with shade, pools and sprinklers! They also have access to our large indoor play space with dog safe climbing equipment to allow for extra running and wrestling. Every hour, each grouping is rotated to spend valuable time in the different spaces for potty breaks and extra playtime. Exceptions to outdoor time is made during extreme weather including heat and cold. 

Play Groupings

Sherwood Barks has 8 different pens (on top of our indoor play space and yard) to allow dogs to be groups by size, temperament & playstyle. This means that dogs are in a group with approximately 8-10 other well-matched dogs.

Flooring: 

Our dogs love to run, chase, wrestle and nap on our epoxy flooring, complete with rubber flecks for grip, throughout. 

Cleaning Supplies: 

All Veterinary grade cleaning supplies are used in the daycare pens. No harsh chemicals are used. 

Treats: 

We use Hypoallergenic kibble as treats throughout the day. Dogs are rewarded for positive behaviors. If your dog has allergies or you would not like to them to receive snacks throughout the day, please let us know!  You are also welcome to bring a lunch or treat bag, labelled with your dogs name, and we will be sure to feed and reward them!

Vaccines: 

All daycare dogs must be vaccinated and up to date with Bordetella, DA2PP and Rabies. When dropping off your dog for their first day, please being a copy of their vaccinations for our records or you may enter them into our PawPartner booking system. 

How to Book: 

To book a day of daycare, please follow the link below to our external booking site, PawPartner.  Once your account is created, you may reserve a day of daycare! Options are given to pay online, pay in person or redeem a day of your Frequent Fido pass. 

Individual Training during Daycare! 

You drop off your pup at daycare for the day and our trainer's work with them one on one in short sessions throughout. We train to your specific needs/requests, record the sessions, and send the videos to you afterwards so that you may watch, learn, and practice the skills taught to your pup. We can also provide this service at a lower cost, without the video recording.

*Please note, this also requires practice of these skills taught to the puppy by the owners at home for the learned skills to continue to be reinforced in your home environment.*This requires booking through both the daycare and training center to ensure availability in advance.

We strongly recommend your dog attends 2-3 days of daycare before booking a training session. The daycare environment can be exciting and overwhelming and it typically takes the average dog a few days to get used to the new environment, dogs and staff.  Once your dog has settled in, we can begin training!
