Do you want to become a Certified Professional Dog Trainer, but don't know where to start?

At Sherwood Barks, we are now offering a CPDT-KA Prep Course.

Our team of Certified Professional Dog Trainers (CPDT-KA) have years of experience in training dogs and we are committed to providing a personalized training programs that meet the unique needs of each furry friend. Our CPDT-KA prep course is designed to teach you the material and content required for writing a successful CPDT-KA examination, in a classroom style environment. Here is how we do that!

Small Class Size: 8 student maximum

10 Classes (3 hour duration each class) = 30 hours of classroom instruction preparing and teaching you the theories, skills, and knowledge required to successfully pass the CPDT-KA exam. Note: while we will review LIMA, as the knowledge and understanding is required for examination, Sherwood Barks aligns with the LIFE model, and does not condone the use aversives.

Practice exam questions: testing your knowledge at the end of each class, as well as an overall practice exam on all of the teachings at the end of this course.

Practicum: Access to achieve the 300 hours of shadowing and hands on teaching, as required by the CCPDT, along with the sign off from your CPDT-KA certified instructor. Click here to meet the Instructor, Maegan Rose.

Our full support and guidance in obtaining all of the CPDT-KA Eligibility Requirements:

• Must be over 18 yrs of age
• Must log at least 300 hours in dog training within the last 3 years, signed off by a current CCPDT certificant (your instructor: Maegan Rose).
• A signed and completed Attestation statement from your CCPDT certified instructor (Maegan Rose).
• Acknowledgement and adherence to the CCPDT Code of Ethics and LIMA policy
• Completion of the CCPDT online application to write your examination

Your Investment:

• Classroom CPDT-KA prep course $1250 (great for students that already have their required hours)
• Classroom CPDT-KA prep course & 300 hour Practicum (75 hours shadowing / 225 hours working with a variety of dog sizes and breeds) $1250 + $1000 = $2250

Note: the $400 proctored examination fee to the CCPDT to write your official examination is not included in your above investment, and will be required when the applicant applies to write their official examination, to the CCPDT directly, during the examination period.
